Philip Wilder - VP, 21C Media Group, NYC and host of our new choral music program.

Philip Wilder has enjoyed a distinguished career both as a performer (countertenor) and in arts administration and education. Before joining 21C Media Group in 2005, Philip was the Associate Director of the Capital Campaign for the Harman Center for the Arts in Washington, DC, and was awarded a fellowship at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts' Vilar Institute for Arts Management. During his time at the Kennedy Center, Philip managed the first American tour of the Iraqi National Symphony Orchestra and collaborated with Kennedy Center President Michael Kaiser on an instructional manual for strategic planning designed for executive and artistic directors of emerging arts organizations.

As a performer, Philip had a 13-year association with the San Francisco-based vocal ensemble Chanticleer, where he was Assistant Music Director and Director of Education. In collaboration with Chanticleer's Music Director Joseph Jennings, Philip developed concepts for the ensemble's touring programs on 14 recordings for the Warner Classics label, garnering four Grammy® nominations and two Grammy® Awards. He has performed in more than 1,000 concerts world wide, and fostered collaborations with many composers and performers, including Sir John Tavener, Frederica Von Stade and Dawn Upshaw. As Chanticleer's Director of Education, Philip developed and implemented programs for music students in San Francisco and across America, including its Singing in the Schools program and the Chanticleer Youth Choral Festival, an annual event for Bay Area high school students. He is a graduate of the Interlochen Arts Academy, the Eastman School of Music, and the Vilar Institute for Arts Management.
