FAQS - LIVE VIDEO EVENT

I’ve launched the webcast but I’m not seeing or hearing anything…
A webcast is LIVE as it happens. You must be present in order to see it. Please check the date/time.

a) Many streams are only activated at the event time. Check the schedule/broadcast page for dates and times.

b) You may also not have the proper version of Flash installed to view the selected webcast. If this is the case, you should be prompted to install the necessary software upon launching the webcast.

c) The selected link may be out of date, meaning the selected webcast is no longer available.

Why can’t I fast forward or rewind?

You cannot fast forward or rewind a live event.

You can fast forward and rewind a rebroadcast usually.

I am getting a blank screen on the webcast page.

A: This is due to the live video stream being blocked in some fashion at your location. This can be in a firewall, a router, or on your PC within a security application such as McAfee, Norton, Avast, etc. Please check with your IT department to verify that your network is allowing live streaming.

THIS IS VERY COMMON IN A CORPORATE ENVIRONMENT, please check with your IT dept in advance of the event you want to watch.

We are unable to provide advanced technical support for individual users - please test the video link provided a sample file is available to test audio and video, thank you.

What connection speed do I need to view Video?

Our service is optimized for users with High Speed Internet connection (ISDN, DSL, Cable
Modem, LAN, etc.). The files are encoded in such a way that they stream at faster speeds
depending on what your connection supports.

Wireless connections and smartphones WILL experience delays, buffering and other issues.

Audio or Video Freezes or Stutters?

A:
1) There could be an application running that is consuming resources on your computer or there is a lack of bandwidth at your site. If you have other applications running on your PC, such as an indexer like Google Desktop or system backup/ scanning, you should stop them temporarily.
2) If your antivirus application is running a scan you should cancel that.
3) If possible, disable your antivirus application.
4) Minimize network traffic within your network.

Bandwidth Test
Test of your bandwidth here: http://www.speedtest.net

If the download result is less then 1000kbps then your connection may have trouble supporting a live video feed of this nature with smooth playback, especially if it is a shared connection in an office.

We hope you enjoy our live events, please feel free to contact us.
